Father conscious after crash
THE father of a four-yearold girl who was killed in a car crash is now conscious.
Daniel and Danielle Elm both suffered serious injuries in the crash which happened on the A40 between Carmarthen and St Clears last Saturday night.
Their daughter, DarcyMay, who was sat in the back seat, died as a result of her injuries.
It is understood they were on their way to West Wales from their home in Swanage, Dorset, for a holiday when their car was involved in a crash with another vehicle.
Dyfed-Powys Police said Danielle is under sedation and Daniel is now conscious.
But both still remain in a critical condition in hospital.
In an statement issued by the family, they said: “Darcy-May’s mother, Danielle, remains in a critical condition and under sedation since the tragic accident on Saturday evening. Her father, Daniel, also remains in a critical condition, however he is conscious.
“We would once again like to thank everyone for their ongoing love and support throughout this difficult time.”
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help with the cost of Darcy-May’s funeral and to support the family while her parents remain in hospital. Almost £17,000 was raised in just three days.
The page, set up by a friend of the family, reads: “The funds we raise will help with the costs of her funeral and extra costs due to our dearest friends Dani and Dan, her parents, being in hospital and unable to work for the nearest future.”
“The Swanage community is devastated and I’m sure I can count on all of you. This fundraiser has had the family’s consent. Thank you for reading our story. Please donate and share it. With love from all of us.”
