Parade There will be a Remembrance parade and service in Llandeilo on Sunday. The plan is the same as previous year’s, which comprises a parade from the top of Carmarthen Street, setting off at 10.30am down to St Teilo’s Church where a Remembrance service will be held commencing at 10.50am. In the event of poor weather, please meet at the church in plenty of time for the service.

Charity auction ball A grand charity auction ball will be held at the newly opened Mountain Gate, Tycroes, on Saturday, November 24, proceeds to go towards Latch and the Hannah Rose Versus Leukaemia charity. Christmas fair A Christmas fair and raffle will be held on Thursday, November 15, at Llandybie Hall, to be opened at 2pm by councillor Anthony Davies. Admission £1, which includes coffee/tea. Look out for a selection of stalls and homemade cakes.
Tea dance A tea dance (sequence, ballroom, line, etc) will be held at Ty Dyffryn on Tuesday, November 20, and also on December 18.

Centenary of the First World War Manor Road Day Centre, Ammanford, have created a display to commemorate the end of the First World War at the gallery in Ammanford Library, which can be seen up till Friday. Ysgol Dyffryn Aman and Coleg Sir Gâr campus, Ammanford, are also contributing to the exhibition. Included are poems, collages, artwork, knitted, sewn, paper and material poppies.

Concert to remember Garnant branch of the Royal British Legion are holding a concert to mark the end of the First World War, entitled The Guns Fell Silent, on Friday at Christ Church, Garnant, at 7pm. Come and help us remember those who did not return home to this valley, and also those who returned but were never the same. Appearing at the concert will be local choirs Cor Merched Lleisiau’r Cwm and Cor Meibion Dyffryn Aman. Entry is free but there will be a collection for the British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.
