Pa­rade There will be a Re­mem­brance pa­rade and ser­vice in Llan­deilo on Sun­day. The plan is the same as pre­vi­ous year’s, which com­prises a pa­rade from the top of Car­marthen Street, set­ting off at 10.30am down to St Teilo’s Church where a Re­mem­brance ser­vice will be held com­menc­ing at 10.50am. In the event of poor weather, please meet at the church in plenty of time for the ser­vice.

Char­ity auc­tion ball A grand char­ity auc­tion ball will be held at the newly opened Moun­tain Gate, Ty­croes, on Satur­day, Novem­ber 24, pro­ceeds to go to­wards Latch and the Han­nah Rose Ver­sus Leukaemia char­ity. The event is for adults only and the dress code is black tie. There will be a hot Ital­ian buf­fet, en­ter­tain­ment, a raf­fle and auc­tion,. Tick­ets are £19.50.

Christ­mas fair A Christ­mas fair and raf­fle will be held on Thurs­day, Novem­ber 15, at Llandy­bie Hall, to be opened at 2pm by coun­cil­lor An­thony Davies. Ad­mis­sion £1, which in­cludes cof­fee/tea. Look out for a se­lec­tion of stalls and home­made cakes.

Tea dance A tea dance (se­quence, ball­room, line, etc) will be held at Ty Dyf­fryn on Tues­day, Novem­ber 20, and also on De­cem­ber 18.

Cen­te­nary of the First World War Manor Road Day Cen­tre, Am­man­ford, have cre­ated a dis­play to com­mem­o­rate the end of the First World War at the gallery in Am­man­ford Li­brary, which can be seen up till Fri­day. Ys­gol Dyf­fryn Aman and Co­leg Sir Gâr cam­pus, Am­man­ford, are also con­tribut­ing to the ex­hi­bi­tion. In­cluded are po­ems, col­lages, art­work, knit­ted, sewn, pa­per and ma­te­rial pop­pies.

Can­celled Due to un­fore­seen cir­cum­stances, the ad­vice surgery due to be held at Gar­nant Club on Fri­day by county coun­cil­lor Kevin Madge has been can­celled. Sorry for any in­con­ve­nience. Con­cert to re­mem­ber Gar­nant branch of the Royal Bri­tish Le­gion are hold­ing a con­cert to mark the end of the First World War, en­ti­tled The Guns Fell Silent, on Fri­day at Christ Church, Gar­nant, at 7pm. Come and help us re­mem­ber those who did not re­turn home to this val­ley, and also those who re­turned but were never the same. Ap­pear­ing at the con­cert will be lo­cal choirs Cor Merched Lleisiau’r Cwm and Cor Meibion Dyf­fryn Aman. En­try is free but there will be a col­lec­tion for the Bri­tish Le­gion’s Poppy Ap­peal.
