Carmarthen & District Gardening Club

Carmarthen Journal - - Living In: Community News -

THE speaker at the October meeting was our very own Bethan Charles, whose talk was entitled A Carmarthen Garden.

Her talk focused on her own garden at Nant yr Arian, with Bethan using her slide show to take us through the history of the garden, and how she has designed and maintained her garden over the years.

It was clear that Bethan has a great passion for the art of gardening, which combined with her artistic flair, immense knowledge of gardening and the cultivation of plants, has enabled her to create an area of real beauty.

She is clearly a very accomplished gardener who finds in gardening her one opportunity to be truly creative. Bethan believes the garden is a place for the soul: she enjoys the hard work, the art of gardening, the colour and the scene she creates, experimenting all the while. She referred to her Clematis Facebook group and the advice she receives from all around the world, including from someone in New Zealand.

Meetings are held on the first Monday of the month in the Carmarthen Indoor Bowls Club, Picton Terrace, Carmarthen, at 7pm, unless it is a bank holiday and then it will be the second Monday. Members are encouraged to bring along a guest for a nominal charge of £1.
