Could it be abuse?
Dear Miss Crimebuster
Each day, I’ve organised carers to see my elderly mum. The thing is, every time I visit her lately, she says she’s knocked herself or tripped to explain the bruises on her body. Her carers seem great, and they do keep a log book of any incident. It’s making me so suspicious, though, that I’m thinking of putting in some hidden cameras. Helen, 42, London
Older people do tend to bruise more easily as their blood vessels get more fragile, but take your mum to her GP. Cameras would bring further reassurance, but nothing untoward is happening. Mum loves to chat to your dad who’s on the other side, and that brings her great comfort.
