Ghostly Inspirations Freddie Mercury
T he family of flamboyant lead singer of Queen fled the 1964 Zanzibar revolution, which killed thousands of Arabs and Indians. They found refuge in this unassuming house in Gladstone Avenue, Feltham. Very close-knit, Freddie's Parsee parents tolerated his incessant guitar practice in his small bedroom. His sister tried to be magnanimous when he’d spend hours in the only bathroom! Freddie died aged 45 on 24 November 1991 from an AIDS complication.
