Isuffer from adult acne. Just over a year ago, I decided to become drug-free, and have tried so many alternative things in attempt to heal myself. I’m vegetarian and eat little dairy. I am a reiki practitioner and receive kinesiology treatments. Acne is stopping me from living my life to the fullest. I don’t want to wear makeup constantly. What can you advise? Carla, 38, London

Dear Carla

Acne is something I can relate to as I suffered with outbreaks on my back as well as on my face in my younger years. As usual, stress will aggravate the problem - but who wouldn’t be stressed when you feel as though you have a face which is ‘glowing’ for all the wrong reasons?

I’m sure you know how important it is to keep affected area scrupulously clean and steer clear of perfumed products. And still the problem continues – I hear you!

Check nothing in your diet is triggering skin breakouts. I love strawberries but they always set me off!drink lots of water, eat plenty of leafy green vegetables, and avoid fizzy drinks and sugary snacks. Don’t forget the healing power of sleep and the importance of Omega 3 found in oily fish. If dry skin is a problem, upping your essential fatty acid intake with extra virgin olive oil will add moisture from within.

Adult acne is driving me nuts
