Bludgeoned l aw yer
Janice Weston’s body was found by a cyclist over 30 years ago. She’d been dumped in a ditch by the A1 motorway in Cambridgeshire.
Janice, 36, was a solicitor and partner in a well-established law firm.
She’d been beaten to death with a car jack, which was found in a nearby field.
Janice had last been seen the day before, 10 September 1983, at her offices in London.
Police found a half-finished meal at her home in Notting Hill – it was clear she’d left in a hurry.
Four days on, her bloodstained, silver Alfa Romeo was found in Camden, but the killer had left no fingerprints.
Janice’s husband Anthony (now dead), was questioned but cleared of any wrongdoing – he was in Paris on business at the time of his wife’s murder.
No-one was ever charged.
It was clear she’d left her home in a hurry
