Noemi Lakmaier was living the high life for nine hours as part of her artistic installation. The artist, who is wheelchair-bound, hung from the ceiling with the help of 20,000 helium balloons inside Sydney Opera House. The huge bunch of multicoloured balloons is meant to represent cherophobia – the fear of happiness – and the work was inspired by Noemi’s experience of disability.
