‘NUDE IN THE NETTLES’
O n 28 August 1981, police received a tip-off from a wellspoken man who refused to give his name for ‘national security reasons’. He said a woman’s decomposed, naked body had been found in North York Moors National Park.
Aged 35-40, 5ft 2in, with short, dark hair, the unknown woman, who’d been dead for up to two years, was dubbed the ‘Nude in the Nettles’.
Medical students made a wax model of her head, but the case was never solved.
