Safe flight

Q We’re visiting family abroad for Christmas but I’m pregnant – is it safe to fly? Candida, 30

A Most airlines let you fly up to about 36 weeks of pregnancy (32 weeks with twins), though they might ask for a letter from your GP. Flying’s generally safe, but there’s a slightly greater risk of a blood clot in your legs, which you can reduce by wearing flight socks.
