Julia Dobson who honed her craft at French fashion house, Celine is the designer behind Village England an affordable new luxury accessories brand, which names its bags after villages in England.
Designs range from mini cross body bags to work bags, hobo bags and shoulder bags.
There are also bag-related accessories such as pouches, purses, cross-body straps and bag charms.
I’ve checked the Village England website and so far no Cheshire village has been named in the creation of a bag.
I think we should get on the case straight away. What do you fancy carrying? The Prestbury? The Bunbury or maybe The Tarporley? YES TO THE COAT I bought my new coat a few weeks ago then discovered like Amy Winehouse I’d gone back to black (and we all know what happened to her - although I don’t think the talented Ms W was referring to clothes in her hit song).
‘Do I really need so much black in my wardrobe?’ I pondered then I saw this coat by Vilago and thought ‘no’. It mixes up on trend neutral with on-trend neon but still manages to look elegant and classic. LUCKY JACKET? In the 1990s my friend had what she called her ‘glitter jacket’ and when she put it on it magically tuned her into a femme fatale. If clothes could talk it was shouting ‘party’. Plus you could just pop it on over almost anything and go from day to night. Now glitter jackets are everywhere. They are a party-season winner. This one is fabulous and at that price you could convince yourself you’ll be wearing it for years to come. You probably won’t but who cares? Jacket, by Prabal Gurung, £1,690 selfridges.com
