Classic Bike (UK) - - News -

A love of motorcycling runs in my family, as you can see from these two photos from our album. The first shows my late father, Jack Pierce (on the right) who served in the Royal Engineers throughout the Middle East during WWII. Taken in front of the Great Sphinx in Egypt, the story goes that the only bike available was a BSA that had been run over, damaging the forks beyond repair, so he adapted a set of teledraulic forks, possibly of Matchless origin. The second photo shows me posing in our garden in 1973 on my lovely 350 Yamaha YR5, purchased new for £360 from Ken Heanes in Fleet in 1972. Steve Pierce
