Ariel four is top of the heap at Allington

Classic Bike (UK) - - AUCTIONS -

Top selling lot at Richard Edmonds Auctions’ April sale was a 1958 1000cc Ariel Square Four MKII. From the last year of Square Four production, the bike had been owned by the seller for the last 45 years and always kept drystored. In original condition, though having not run for years, the bike was described as requiring recommissioning before use and sold for £7000.

The sale also featured a large number of parts and project bikes – mainly lightweights and including several Triumph Tiger Cubs in kit form. Prices ranged from as little as £90 for the bare bones of a circa 1963 Cub, with major parts present, dismantled engine and no V5, to £1700 for an eminently restorable and largely complete 1963 example with an age-related V5C.
