CLASSICS AT THE PALACE
We enjoy a sneak peek at some of the machinery to go under the hammer at the Bonhams auction at Alexandra Palace this September
Exclusive behind-thescenes nose at the highlights of Bonhams’ looming Ally Pally sale
Bonhams’ only motorcycle sale in London this year adds extra lustre to an already glittering MCN Ally Pally Show and Supersprint. A stunning, one-owner collection totalling around 74 bikes goes under the hammer on Sunday September 23.
Bonhams’ Andy Barrett says: “This is a very special, wellcurated collection,” he enthuses. “There really is something for everybody, with a few lots being offered with no reserve and a broad spread of great classic bikes. There’s something for fans of British, Italian and Japanese classic iron. And we’re delighted to be at Alexandra Palace – with all its historical automotive connections – for the sale.”
Admission to the auction is by catalogue (which admits two people) costing £20 and available in advance from bonhams.com or on the day. Viewing is on Saturday September 22. Andy tells us there could be a few extra lots added to the sale between now and auction time, so it’s worth checking Bonhams’ website closer to the day. In the meantime though, we’ve selected a few bikes that look like being stars of the show.
