“It took a long time to build this bike,” said Zoé, who works as a motorcycle mechanic. “We started with a 1939 Speed Twin engine and a frame from a 1951 Tiger 100, so we decided to give it an old-school racing look. The rest of the rolling chassis we picked up from here and there.” It might be a bitsa, but this is a bike that looks good in its all-black finish, relieved only by blue pinstripes on the tank, and it gives a healthy crack from the open exhaust pipes. The inlet ports have been opened up and she fitted bigger valves, high compression pistons, and 3134 cams. “That was enough tuning,” says Zoé, “because this bike will be ridden on the road as well as occasional outings on the track.”
