Restored Bonnevilles don’t come any better than this superb Aubergine and Alaskan White American-market model. The work of Keith Martin of Big D Cycles in Dallas, Texas, the machine was restored from a ‘rusty roller’ bought from the estate of a Texas collector, along with a large quantity of NOS parts. Martin, who worked for Big D’s original owner, the legendary Jack Wilson of ‘Texas Cee-gar’ fame, became a partner in the business before acquiring the Big D trade name following Wilson’s death.

Restored using as many of the bike’s original parts as possible and correctly date-coded, NOS, 1967 parts (with the exception of the exhaust, tyres, seat cover and handlebars, which are top quality reproductions) this has to be one of the best Bonnevilles to come up for sale recently. It has only covered around 100 test miles since the restoration was completed in 2014, carries a UK registration and is estimated to make £8000-14,000.
