CIRCA 1988 YAMAHA RD350F2
Yamaha’s RD350LC was an absolute sensation when it was launched in 1980. Its giant-killing performance and sharp styling have made the LC a classic, but the later, power-valve equipped RD350LCII, RD350F and RD350N models are arguably superior on the road.
Production of the faired F and unfaired N models ran on until 1988, but Yamaha revived the model in 1992, with bikes being built in their Brazilian factory. Quality was never quite the same, though, and it’s the Japanese-built bikes that are most in demand. Another bike from the Willowbrook collection, this 1988 model – never run or registered – is one of the last few to be built in Japan and has recorded just five miles on it odometer (from being pushed around during its 30 years of storage). Offered without any documentation, but in virtually as-new condition, the bike’s estimate is £9000-12,000.
