It was funny, Alex Barros [Schwantz’s new team-mate] came from five seconds behind. I was watching my board, thinking: ‘Who is coming?’ I looked back and saw it was Alex. I was like: ‘Come on, I want to see this!’ I jumped in behind him and went with him. He was fast everywhere, so we rode away from Wayne like he was tied to a post. Then through those two fast rights near the end of the lap my bike went sideways, so I stood it up, went through the grass, gathered it back up again and got back on the track, by which time Wayne was back to within a second of me. Then Barros crashed. I managed to hold off Wayne by a couple of seconds.
