Car club awards call
The deadline for the inaugural National Car Club Awards is next Monday (1 Feb) – so get your entries in!
Organisers say the biggest response so far in the awards – which are presented in association with Tourism Ireland – is for crown of National Car Club of the Year.
There’s also a battle for the Club Magazine of the Year award, with entrants so far including the BMW Car Club for Straight Six, the Austin A30/A35 Owners’ Club for Spotlight and Sidelight and the Traction Owners’ Club for Floating Power.
CCW editor Keith Adams, Practical Classics editor Danny Hopkins and FBHVC chairman David Whale are on the judging panel. The winners will be announced on Saturday, 5 March at this year’s Practical Classics Restoration and Classic Car Show, taking place at the NEC in Birmingham.
‘The response has been amazing. It’s also great to see the small clubs throwing their hat into the ring with the bigger clubs, says show organiser Dan Nwaokolo.
‘People work so hard for their clubs. They deserve to be recognised, especially given the time and commitment involved.’
