Find out what your classic’s really worth
A new online tool to help you work out what your classic is worth has been launched by our sister website, classiccarsforsale.co.uk.
The new valuation tool uses data provided by classic car insurance specialist Hagerty International to provide current values based on data gathered from auction results, dealer prices and private sales. It also draws on data from classic car websites to keep estimates up to date.
Classic Cars for Sale says that not only is the tool useful for making sure you’re not paying over the odds for your next classic or selling it for too little, it’s also useful for keeping track of your car’s value to make sure it’s adequately insured.
Last August, insurance specialists said as many as 70% of classic owners may be underinsuring their cars due to their values rising in a strong market, with 1970s and 1980s cars particularly affected.
‘An instant valuation tool is a useful addition to the growing CCfS website,’ says Keith Adams, CCW editor. ‘As always, though, we appreciate feedback and suggestions for cars to add to the list.’
