Imperfect Prefect

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - Your Letters -

I am old. Old enough to have been heavily engaged in the motoring scene in the 1950s and, to me, the 107E Ford Prefect meant a car with the new Ford Anglia’s engine and gearbox, not the old 1172cc sidevalve unit and three-speed gearbox. So I think young Nick Larkin got it wrong in his 1950s Cars You Can Afford To Love ( CCW 20 January). Not the first time he has, I think, but never mind – I am a fan, and Nick’s got petrol in his blood.
