According to Roger Galvin, of the Quattro Workshop, roadworthy Quattros start at £8000£9000. Pre-1989 cars command up to £20,000; most fetch £12,000-£15,000, but no history can halve a car’s value. The 20-valve editions are most sought after; these fetch between £20,000 and £25,000 for something worthwhile but top out at £30,000 plus. Roger says: ‘A cheap Quattro will prove extremely costly and DIY maintenance isn’t possible, apart from the basics.’
