Car dealer group goes classic
The Peter Vardy Group – the largest Jaguar Land Rover retailer in the UK – has entered into the classic car market with the launch of its Heritage Collection sales and service department.
From its new Heritage dealership based in County Durham, Vardy is currently advertising a range of more than 20 classic cars ranging in price from £10,000 to £250,000.
The company – No 30 in the AM100 listing of the UK’s 100 largest automotive retail groups by turnover, published by CCW sister title AM – is also promoting a dedicated service that, in addition to offering maintenance, storage and transportation, can also provide advice on investment and other matters. The Vardy Group has more than 90 years’ experience in the motor trade spanning three generations of the Vardy family, and is known for its relationship with marques including Aston Martin, Ferrari, Maserati, Porsche, Rolls-Royce, Jaguar and Land Rover.
‘I have always been passionate about iconic cars, and starting a heritage arm to the business has been something I have wanted to do for the last few years,’ says chief executive officer Peter Vardy.
Heading up the new Heritage team is Paul Cummings, who has worked as principal dealer in the company for 16 years. ‘This is an exciting new departure for the Peter Vardy Group,’ he says. ‘The Heritage team has assembled a fantastic collection of cars.’ www.petervardyheritage.co.uk
