Here’s a satisfied DVLA customer

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - Your Letters -

I also have an S-registered Triumph Stag (see ‘More logbook shennanigans’) and this was built in May 1976. In September 2014 I wrote to the DVLA asking that the correct year of build could be recorded as 1976, so that I could tax it as historic in 2017.

I enclosed the V5 and my Heritage certificate, which clearly showed the commission number and build date. In October I received back a new V5 with its correct registration and shortly after my Heritage certificate in perfect condition. Although the new V5 does not mention the date of manufacture it is there on the DVLA website as being built in 1976.

I cannot understand how I had the database updated, whereas Ian has experienced considerable distress in his dealings with Swansea. Brian George, Newcastle-upon-Tyne
