It’s Italian. Key places to check for structural rot are front chassis legs, rear subframe, sills and the base of the A-post.
Higher up, check the lower corners of the front and rear screen frames, the rear edge of the roof and around the sunroof if one is fitted.
White smoke means a worn turbo; lack of power is likely to be worn cam lobes. Hot oil pressure should be at least 1bar at idle.
Test for clutch slip; changing it is a major job for which you should allow at least £500, so haggle accordingly.
Avoid cars with lowered and uprated suspension – the extra stresses created can cause cracking in the bodyshell.
