The twin-cam cylinder head was unique to these cars and with only 4500 or so produced, parts can be hard to find and costly.
Beware worn synchros and jumping out of gear – parts for the Getrag five-speed ‘box are if anything even harder to obtain.
Check just about everywhere for rust as little protection was provided and it can kick off in any seam between panels.
Given the age of these, you should also check the quality and integrity of the inevitable past repairs that have been done.
Replacement interior and exterior trim is hard to find – apart from (luckily) HS decals and front airdams, which the club can supply.
