The PC Restoration Show gets a ‘before and after’ section and a single-owner low-mileage Ford Cortina is going up for auction.
A single-owner, low mileage Ford Cortina MkIII is being offered for sale at an auction this Saturday (27 February).
The Cortina – originally specially ordered in Onyx Green Metallic, and unusually in 1600cc form – is included in Morris Leslie’s latest sale at Errol, Perth.
It was first registered to Robert Adams of Leith, Edinburgh, in November 1971, and remained in his ownership until he died in October 2014.
Robert initially had the car as his company vehicle, becoming his own property in October 1975. In February 1978, with a recorded mileage of 56,465, the car was garaged by Robert to protect its condition. Over the past 35 years, just 3000 miles have been added to the total.
‘The car had remain & ed hidden from the world for 38 years and is still in original pristine condition and with period accessories that Robert has added throughout his life,’ says Morris Leslie’s auction manager Keith Murray.
‘Robert kept the car purely for his own enjoyment and definitely not for show purposes. He was, we are told, a very private man who loved and cherished his car more than anything. His maintenance regime went as far as lubricating heater cable inserts.’
