Classic fettler needed

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - News -

An expanding garage in Surrey is on the lookout for a person with classic car restoration skills to join its team.

After carrying out bodywork jobs on older cars for customers, Just the Ticket in New Malden has decided to enhance its services to include rebuilding classics.

Proprietor Paul Onslow-Cole, who is also the father of touring car race driver Tom Onslow-Cole, believes the job would suit a retired person with the required expertise in classics, who could choose their hours to suit. Bodywork ability is the main requirement though, although mechanical savvy would obviously be a bonus.

Projects the garage is working on include a Mercedes-Benz 190SL, the first production Bristol 411, which was owned by 007 soundtrack composer John Barry, and an Austin A40 to race at Goodwood this year. ‘There’s a lot of variety,’ says Paul. ‘It’s something we feel we’re really good at, so we’ve decided to do more of it.’

You could find yourself working on John Barry’s Bristol.
