TECHNO CLASSICA ESSEN
ESSEN, GERMANY, 6-10 APRIL
Europe’s biggest car manufacturers and more than 200 clubs will be showing their wares at Europe’s largest indoor classic car event, the Techno Classica Essen.
The five-day show will include displays from Alfa Romeo, Ford, Citroën, MercedesBenz, Rolls-Royce and Volkswagen, with BMW marking its centenary.
More than 190,000 vistors are expected to come to the German city, will also be organising a flagship display dedicated to the stars of the 1955 Mille Miglia, with 10 of the cars that took part in the race being brought together for the display in Hall 6.
The 2500 cars on show at Essen this year include vehicles brought along by clubs from across Europe, including Germany’s Fiat 500 Club, which last year had an Airfixinspired display featuring a cutaway car. The Panther Car Club has also confirmed it is among British clubs attending.
This year’s event will be the biggest yet, with all four of Essen’s outdoor display areas being used, in addition to the 20 indoor halls, for the first time.
‘The constantly growing fan community can hardly wait for the doors to open to the most fascinating classic vehicle show in the world,’ says event spokesman Tom Kraayvanger. ‘In an exhibition area of over 127,000 square metres, 2500 classic and vintage cars will shine.’
