Survey covered counties that no longer exist

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - Your Letters -

I read about the Carole Nash survey in the 16 March issue and noted that North Humberside came in 25th place and South Humberside was 33rd. There are no such places. As a county, Humberside existed only from 1974 to 1996, and was divided for geographical purposes into North and South, although while it existed there was only one administrative county, Humberside. North Humberside was absorbed back into the East Riding of Yorkshire in 1996 and South Humberside became part of North-East Lincolnshire. The survey is, therefore, completely meaningless! Norman E Hawkes, Hessle, East Riding of Yorkshire
