A pre-production Ford Capri MKIII 3000S used in hit TV series The Professionals is to go under the hammer at Duxford on 20 April.

The Capri has done 77,300 miles, retains a record of its use in television, and has be given an estimate of £35-45,000 by H&H Auctions for their sale at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford, Cambridgeshire.

Registered VHK 495S, wore the false plate UUO 303T during filming (1977-’81), and was used during series two. The series starred Martin Shaw, Lewis Collins and Gordon Jackson as agents of the fictional ‘CI5’.

The car was written off and subsequently restored in the mid-1980s, and has since had further restoration work including a repaint in its original Strato Silver paintwork.

‘In The Professionals, Bodie was an ex-mercenary, Paratrooper, and SAS sergeant willing to take on criminals on their own terms,’ says a spokesman for H&H Auctions.

‘His Capri was as much a star of the show as the stars themselves, and it will be fondly remembered by millions who loved the series when initially broadcast.’ Sam Skelton

The 77,000-mile car has a current MoT and has been restored by its current owner.
