Just seven ex­am­ples of these were built by the Browns Lane com­pe­ti­tion de­part­ment and two were in­tended for Sur­rey Jaguar dealer John Coombs. Road reg­is­tered four months af­ter be­ing built, it en­tered the 191961 Scott Brown Tro­phy but suf­fered a bro­ken fan­belt. Af­ter that the trail goes cold and was said not to have ‘moved un­der its own power’ for 15 years, be­ing bought by the ven­dor in 2002. Re­stored by a Jaguar spe­cial­ist and brought up to FIA-com­pli­ance stan­dards the orig­i­nal tub was used and ex­te­rior pan­el­work re­placed with lightweight alu­minium equiv­a­lents. It was fourth in the 2006 Le Mans Clas­sic, won its class in the 2006 Spa Six Hours, and has since taken part in the Good­wood Re­vival.
