TRICKY EBAY QUESTIONS

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - News - (http://goo.gl/nKjM6A).

If I buy stolen car parts on eBay without knowing, will I get in trouble?

Almost certainly not, because in most cases the police have no way of tracing the parts back to a stolen vehicle. It’s more of a moral issue - if you bought parts from Fiddimore’s eBay store, for example, you have helped fund classic theft. If you believe you have bought stolen parts, you should report it to the police.

So how do I avoid buying from thieves?

The best way is to only buy from reputable companies who’ve been established for many years, have professional premises and exemplary eBay feedback.

What if I suspect something I see on eBay is stolen?

Call 101 to report it to the police and ask them to inform eBay via its Safety Centre
