Princess rubbers: it’s an order

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - News -

If you have a Leyland Princess or Ambassador with a damp floor, then www.leyland needs you… to order some screen rubbers.

The club has been investigating getting the rubbers remade, as with the youngest ones now 32 years old, many owners are finding theirs starting to perish and let water in. With no off-the-shelf alternatives having the correct profile, the club has found a manufacturer that can make a bespoke batch. However, club president Kev Davis says: ‘The club is not able to finance such a project so in order for us to proceed we are appealing for a minimum of 25 Princess and Ambassador owners to order a windscreen screen rubber. Ten owners have already placed an order.’

Each will cost £101.91, plus post and packing. In the event of not enough orders being placed, payment will be refunded in full. ‘But we’re sure owners would rather have dry carpets and a safer fitment,’ Kevin adds.
