A Ford parts bonanza has been discovered and Vanfest returns!

A bitter rift between organisers that previously scuppered a popular all-makes van festival has now been resolved. That means Vanfest will be revived, with the next event taking place in May.

It will be held at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern, Worcestershire, on 27-29 May. The first Vanfest was held at the venue between 1994 and 2011 and intended as an event for all marques. But it evolved into being the world’s biggest event for Volkswagen campers and vans.

A dispute between the event organisers and holders of the Vanfest name meant that the event had to close. The Volkswagen-based Busfest was then launched and continues to be held at Malvern every September.

With the earlier differences now resolved, it has been decided that the time is right to try again to bring together owners of all types of van (not just Volkswagens) for a weekend event.

‘Van owners all talk the same language,’ says Vanfest co-ordinator Simon Holloway. ‘It’s a fantastic venue with great facilities and the hope is that van owners will come and sample this year’s re-launched event and then we can build on that foundation for future years.’
