Land Rover Series III Ceremonial Vehicle

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - Driven -

This vehicle is very much in the tradition of State IV, but with some very cunning modifications. The Land Rover was commissioned in 1978 and in the following year was given the ultimate in ‘back seat driver’ systems. At the merest touch of a button, Her Majesty could instruct her driver to stop, start (very useful for making a getaway from dull or overbearing VIP guests) or slow down via a display of dashboard warning lights. The Land Rover was sold at audition on 24 November 2014. With only 1892 miles on the clock and a very careful previous owner, it made £28,380.
