1935 Hillman 20/70 DeLuxe saloon

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - Auction News -

Hillman’s move into the more luxurious market was short-lived, the six cylinder 2.8-litre 20/70 being in production for a year before the company decided it should concentrate on its more popular models. DVCA’s car has been in Dorset all its life, and it still has the Dorchester dealer plaque on its dashboard. It’s equipped with sunroof, opening windscreen, rear blind, foot rests and a cigar lighter in the back. Thought to have spent the war years and through the 1950s working as a taxi, it has had a sympathetic restoration, while the original interior has been retained, rather than being sacrificed to a trimmer. A cracking car in so many respects.
