SILVERSTONE CIRCUIT, NORTHAMPTONSHIRE NN12 8TN, 4-5 JUNE
Silverstone this weekend will be the place to be if you’re looking to buy sell, or simply look at MGs. MGLive! will feature a packed cars for sale area – get in early if you want a bargain.
The British Grand Prix circuit is also being used for historic racing throughout the weekend, while TV personalities Mike Brewer and Ant Anstead will be entertaining the crowds at the event’s live arena. Other big draws include model-by-model displays by branches of the MG Car Club, and Russ Swift’s thrilling stunt driving displays.
MGLive! also has a very special guest in the shape of an MGB prototype. The MGB Safety Car – codenamed SSV1 – has been loaned by the British Motor Museum and will be presented by Abingdonbased charity Headway Oxfordshire at the two-day event to help with fundraising. The experimental car, developed to represent British Leyland at a
US road safety conference in 1972, will be joined by more than 1000 classics brought along by MG owners from across the UK and all over Europe.
Adam Sloman, general manager of MGLive! organiser the MG Car Club, says: ‘Having MGB SSV1 adds not only a brilliant link between the marque and the charity but also gives a great opportunity for us to show off a very interesting car to thousands of MG fans.’
MGLive! opens at 9am on both days, and tickets cost £8. www.mglive.co.uk
