Double the fun in Coventry
COVENTRY CITY CENTRE, WEST MIDLANDS, 4-5 JUNE
Another circuit in the city centre has been added to the Coventry MotoFest. The event has been extended to allow even more opportunities for spectators to get closer to the action. The short oval circuit, which runs from the car park on Moat Street to junction seven of the city’s ring road, will be given over to Formula G and historic stock cars for the show’s gymkhana event.
The decision to add the new track frees up the city’s ring road for even more classic car demonstrations, which have been one of the Motofest’s big draws since its inception two years ago.
Among the star cars are the 1964 Mini Cooper S driven by Paddy Hopkirk to victory in that year’s Monte Carlo Rally, and the Rover-BRM (below) gas turbine prototype as campaigned at Le Mans in 1965. The creation of the new track means showgoers can quite literally expect ‘double the fun’ of the previous two events. www.coventrymotofest.com
