Group B pace not price

Historics is offering auction-goers the chance to get Group B pace and looks for a tenth of the price.

Just over 25 years since the last original Audi Quattro left the factory in May 1991, Historics is offering an evocation at its 11 June sale at Brooklands, Surrey. This Hannu Mikkola Group 4-specification car offers a tribute to the 1985 Audi Quattro Competition Coupe and is estimated at £24-28,000.

The car features a fully seam-welded shell and FIA roll-cage, rear firewall, sport Quattro bonnet and high-level boot spoiler. It also has Brembo brakes, Brembo slave and master cylinders, a limited slip differential and a 3in stainless steel exhaust. Power is ample thanks to a larger turbo, Lumenition engine management, green injectors, uprated fuel pumps and forged pistons. The suspension has coil-overs with Sport Quattro arms and aluminium strut braces, fitted to Speedline alloy wheels.

‘It not only looks the part but has the potential to deliver on its promise,’ says the auction house.
