When your subject is a car manufacturer that is still in business and still inspires passion, you’ll always have something to write about, and to meet the expectations set by the title Nigel Thorley’s Jaguar: All The Cars the tome has been updated to reflect the latest models. We’ll brush over the brochure-esque appearance of the F-Pace, and instead look to the classics. A comprehensive and easily digested encyclopedia of the British marque, each model is described with prototypes, relevant influences on and, finally, production facts and figures. As a resource for buying, it’s good, but where it really shines is in a light – but not heavily editorialised – recap of Jaguar’s history in a compact book. Images are well selected for the text, with the small format sensibly avoiding lavish hero shots.
