thieves strike Car dealer

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - News -

Two cars were stolen less than two weeks ago when raiders struck at a well-known classic dealer.

A Volkswagen Beetle and a Mercedes-Benz SLK were taken from Peterborough Classic Cars at Thorney, Cambs at around 4am on Sunday May 30.

Ben Purdy from Peterborough Classic Cars says: ‘This is very upsetting. We haven’t had a break-in during the 31 years we have been here and only one other car has ever been taken. We think they were after a Volkswagen Type 2 camper we have in stock.’

The stolen silver Mercedes-Benz, registered R280 RBY, was on sale at £3000 and the ‘new’ model Beetle, HW02 AKY at £1500.
