My Mini’s a Marvin... What’s yours called?

The world’s first Mini census has taken place re­veal­ing the most pop­u­lar names for the car.

Marvin is the most pop­u­lar name, with the sur­vey, car­ried out by the or­gan­is­ers of MiniWorld Live, fur­ther re­veal­ing that 51% of Minis are male, 35% are fe­male and 14% are nei­ther. Pop­u­lar names in­clude Tommy (Cooper) and Jack, with a num­ber called Dave, Stu­art and Bob.

The most pop­u­lar name for fe­male Minis in­cludes Min­nie, Mol­lie, and Mil­lie. More in­ter­est­ing names in­clude Pingu, ‘due to be­ing white with a black roof’, and Tet­leys, be­cause ‘he has more holes in him than a tea bag’.

Re­sponses came from all over the world, in­clud­ing Aus­tralia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Malta and the USA. Par­tic­i­pants ranged from 17 to 80 years of age.

MiniWorld Live takes place at Rock­ing­ham Mo­tor Speed­way, Northants, on Sun­day 10 July.
