Around Britain in Numbum the MG
A kindhearted couple are taking their 79-year-old MG on a 4000-mile journey around the UK to raise cash for charity.
Owen and Pam Frankland will be setting off from Middlesbrough’s Transporter Bridge on 22 July to drive around the entire coast of mainland Britain in their 1937 TA, christened Numbum. They will be raising funds for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
Owen says: ‘We don’t have a fixed plan – so we’re just setting off and driving. We’ll find accommodation where we can and will be carrying a small tent so we won’t be stuck if we can’t find hotels.’
The Franklands hope to cover 150 miles a day.
