Stirling to reunite with two GP cars
BICESTER, OXFORDSHIRE, 2-3 JULY
Racing legend Sir Stirling Moss will be reunited this weekend with the Lotus 18 in which he won the Monaco Grand Prix 55 years ago.
Flywheel Festival will also bring him together with the 1952 Jaguar C-type in which he won that year’s Reims Grand Prix. Both cars will be in demonstration runs at Bicester Heritage, driven by their current owners.
The racers with links to Sir Stirling will join more than 100 classics in displays at the classic-friendly business park, where the restorers and dealers will also be throwing open their doors to visitors. There’s also a parking area for pre-1966 vehicles to encourage showgoers to become part of the event.
One-day tickets bought on the day cost £28 and a weekend ticket is £50, although there are advance deals on the festival’s website. Sir Stirling will be signing autographs during the action-packed weekend.
