1955 Ford Thunderbird
Just the car for the summer, Historics’ first-year Thunderbird was lovely inside, outside and under the bonnet, and a credit to those who’d carried out the body-off-frame restoration. The panelwork was in nigh-on new order and the paint, bar some marks under the fuel filler, very pleasing. The almost-as-new theme continued inside where the seats, carpet and dashboard had been supremely well prepared. Add in the detailed engine bay – plus the fact this had a three-speed manual rather than an automatic transmission – and this really was a gem, and better value than an XK120.
