So, that’s it. Last week, we as a nation voted to leave the EU. The die is cast, and the recriminations are coming in thick and fast. But now is not the time for searching for scapegoats, or crying like a child – we need to keep calm, carry on, and remember that Britain didn’t stop being Great overnight.
That said, according to our straw poll of classic car dealers (pages 4-5) the forthcoming change in our constitution doesn’t spell doom at all. We’re a nation of traders, and that’ll continue going forwards. And if the value of the pound adjusts to a more permanent lower level, the chances are that many of the imported classics that came our way in recent years may well end up flooding back out again at a tidy profit.
