All the mod cons

We all are used to pre­par­ing our clas­sics for shows and com­par­ing one with another, but do we com­pare our clas­sic daily driv­ers in the same way? I look for as good a spec as I can find for this type of car, as it has to com­pete with mod­ern traf­fic con­di­tions all the time, as well has of­fer max­i­mum com­fort.

On this ba­sis, I chose a car with the fol­low­ing spec: auto gear­box, power Your Let­ters, The Ed­i­tor, CCW, After read­ing the 15 June is­sue, I felt I had to write. On page two, we had Sir Greg Knight say­ing 40-year-old cars should be spared the MoT.

I dis­agreed with stop­ping MoTs and still think that all cars should be tested at a min­i­mum of three years re­gard­less of their age. I’m aware most clas­sic car own­ers look after their cars, as I do, but they should still be tested. So re­open the MoT sta­tions that have closed and put the staff back in em­ploy­ment.
