Ford celebrates 40 Fiesta years
Thumbs up from thousands of fans en route from Dagenham to Brighton
To help celebrate 40 years of the Ford Fiesta, Ford Uk organised a convoy from its engine plant in Dagenham, essex to the Ford summer Festival in Brighton.
More than 200 blue oval-badged cars took part, 40 of them Fiestas. Chairman and managing director of Ford of Britain Andy Barratt enjoyed the chance to show off the company’s heritage. He says: ‘ The opportunity to have these wonderful heritage vehicles lined up next to our latest Fiestas is very rare and was fully appreciated by the Ford fans that made the 69-mile journey down to the festival.’
Andrew Brady drove a Fiesta MkI popular owned by Ford. He says: ‘It was a really special day, and great to see so many enthusiasts turn up to show off their humble Fiestas of all specifications and all eras. Driving the lovely beige MkI popular was a privilege – it’s in stunning condition, and attracted so many admiring glances and thumbs up on the route.’
