Celebrities join E-type charity drive
Numerous motoring celebrities are gearing up to support a fund-raising event aiming to raise £50,000 for Prostate Cancer UK.
More than 100 Jaguars, including one driven by ex-F1 team boss Ross Brawn, are booked to take part in the E-type Round Britain Coastal Drive, consisting of 18 stages over a total of 4000 miles. Cars will be flagged off from Goodwood on 12 September by Derek Bell MBE and further support will come through social media from AC/DC singer Brian Johnson, Jeremy Clarkson and Martin Brundle.
The tour will visit significant locations in Jaguar’s history including Blackpool, where the company was originally founded, and Cromer, birthplace of E-type designer Malcolm Sayer, before returning to Goodwood again on Thursday 29 September.
Organiser Philip Porter says: ‘ The support we are getting from owners and high profile friends is just amazing. Our aim is to raise awareness of this killer cancer from which one in eight men suffers.’ ❚ www.e-typeclub.com
